Elias Khoury (El-Tabib) sexton of the church, always working around!
Saints Cosmas and Damian were twins, born in Arabia and had become eminent for their skill in the science of medicine. Being Christians, they were filled with the spirit of charity and never took money for their services. By conveying great love, they won the hearts of their patients as they taught them about the Faith. Their feast day is September 26th. They are patron saints of pharmacists.
El Saydi is thought to be built by the crusaders during the same time of Balamand church. The historian Asaad Rustom mentioned that the patriarch Macarius has visited the church in 1648-1649.
